An extraordinary opportunity to promote the French language is offered to young Canadian students aged 13 and over attending French school. Launched on February 12th during the popular show Star Académie, the contest “Parler sans fausse note” will offer a first prize of $15,000 to a school for the organization of an activity that showcases the French language. So students to your computers…or pick up a pencil!
When I heard artist Michel Rivard announce the contest on last Sunday’s show, I immediately put up the volume. He spoke of the importance of mastering the French language and the role it plays in the song and entertainment industry.
Whether you’re a fan of this type of show or not, one cannot deny the impact they have on the Francophone world through the broadcasting of French songs. Hats off to those budding young artists who choose to share their vocal and musical talents in French!
Young students of the country should not miss this unique opportunity. Winning thousands of dollars for the organization of a rewarding activity for their school can have a significant impact on their entire Francophone community. You will find all the contest details here.
Ideas Anyone?
Regardless of the fact that the prizes are quite attractive, just the idea of creating a collaborative Francophone project is a step in the right direction! Ideas anyone? What French language extracurricular activities do you want to organize? Do blog readers who may be a bit too old to enter the contest have any suggestions for our youth?
I am sure that young people will have enough imagination to impress the judges by the uniqueness of their proposals. Of course, cover letters should be written in flawless French! Those interested should move quickly; the deadline for submitting a project is March 2nd, 2012.
