From past to Future generations, my world is "la Francophonie"
The theme From past to Future generations, my world is "la Francophonie" refers to the French heritage carried through many generations to the large French Canadian community, and to the sense of belonging of its members. It is a theme meant for Canadians to get a sense of the larger community of francophones across all of the provinces and territories of Canada. Through activities and contests promoted by the Association Canadienne d'Éducation de Langue Française (ACELF) and the Rendez-vous, the theme offers Canadians an occasion to share the French culture's realities as it is experienced in the four corners of the country as well as having a look at the origins of francophones.
A special tribute is addressed to the 400th anniversary of Québec City, the first francophone city in North America. Canadians will learn more about the French Canadian history of the last four centuries. They will be encouraged to share their experiences and knowledge. These dynamic exchanges will deepen their sense of belonging to the French culture.
