Discovery stimulates interaction.
Interaction leads to understanding. Understanding builds a better future. Acting together allows us to learn about each other, to better appreciate one another and that in turn enables us to strengthen relationships, build bridges and establish gateways between communities that are already united by the French language. The Rendez-vous de la Francophonie 2010 theme is an invitation to discover our regions by focusing on cultural exchanges designed to bring francophones and francophiles closer together. Let curiosity be our only guide as we discover the thousand and one attractions of our vibrant regions, while exploring their historically important francophone cultural heritage, as well as, the legacy of their tasteful expressions. Let's bask in the surprisingly rich diversity of our origins, the dynamism so characteristic of the francophone milieu and lifestyle, the wealth of artistic creativity or the savoir-faire of the business community. Upon closer look, what we're bound to discover is, above all, a community of people who share the same passions and aspire to a greater socio-cultural convergence. We are 9.5 million francophones, so let's connect with each other and jump start the conversation to help build our future together. As Voltaire would say "We cannot wish for that we know not".
