How’s your Rendez-vous going?
I hope you are enjoying your month of the Rendez-vous de la Francophonie so far!
If you haven’t looked at the RVF Journal, I encourage you to - it’s great reading. There are links to the National Film Board’s L’espace francophonie (free movies!), the Language Portal of Canada, and lots of other activities, contests, and quizzes. There are prizes too... you could win a trip to Geneva, Switzerland.
I also want to call your attention to the RVF event calendar. With hundreds of events planned from coast to coast to coast, the RVF has something for everyone.
Here are three of the many events happening this month:
On Thursday March 12th, L'association des francophones des Kootenays Ouest (AFKO) is putting on AFKO FAIT SON SHOW at the Royal Grill and Lounge in Nelson, B.C. Bring your "gougounes" (“flip flops” for les Anglais) and enjoy a musical performance by Albertan singer-songwriter Cristian De La Luna. I live in Nelson, so you may see me there.
Who doesn’t love a cabane à sucre? On Sunday, March 15th in Dawson, Yukon, the Association franco-yukonnaise invites you to “sweeten your beak” at Diamond Tooth Gerties.
The Fédération des Francophones de Saskatoon invites you to celebrate the international day of La Francophonie on Friday, March 20th with an evening called "Creation and Fiction in Prairies" at the Relais Community Hall in Saskatoon, SK.
