Introducing the RVF’s new nationwide talent contest: FrancoStar!

Become a web star! Create a video in which you demonstrate your talent, and send it to us using the form at the bottom of the page. All videos submitted will be uploaded to our YouTube account.

Only 10 videos per category will make it to the final round of public voting.

Preferred talent areas include the arts (singing, music, dance, painting, circus, theatre, etc.), sports and innovations.

Register in one of the three categories:

Young Prodigies – school groups or schools
Young at Heart – Canadians 50 years of age and older
General Public – Canadians of all ages

Young Prodigies

  • This category is reserved for Francophone and immersion students at the elementary and secondary levels.
  • An accompanying adult must supervise the students and register them for the contest.
  • FrancoStar is a great way to promote professionalism in the arts and in sports and develop a sense of belonging to your school, while fostering positive social relationships between students from various classrooms and levels.
  • PRIZES: Two cash prizes of $2,500 each will be awarded to the winning classrooms or schools.

Young at Heart

  • This category is reserved for Canadians 50 years of age and older.
  • You can present your talent individually or as a group.
  • FrancoStar will give you the opportunity to excel and to impress Internet users with your talent, which must be presented in French.
  • PRIZES: Two cash prizes of $1,500 each will be awarded to participants in the winning videos. Jury’s Choice is presented by the Fédération des aînées et aînés francophones du Canada (FAAFC)

General Public

  • In this category, Canadians of all ages can participate in the FrancoStar contest individually or as a group, in any discipline.
  • The competition is designed to showcase Francophone pride and demonstrate the variety of talents found among Francophones, Acadians and Francophiles from across Canada.
  • PRIZE: A cash prize of $1,000 will be awarded to participants in the winning video.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: February 8, 2019

VIEWERS: Come back on March 1, 2019, to watch the finalist videos and vote for your favourite in each category! You could win a trip to a French-speaking region of Canada.

By submitting your video to the Rendez-vous de la Francophonie, you agree to let them upload the video on their YouTube page as part of the FrancoStar contest, post the video on their website and use images from the video for promotional purposes.
