Les Rendez-vous de la Francophonie invites you to give new life to the everyday items or recyclable objects in your environment by reusing them to create a work of art. Be creative, and let the environmentalist in you take over! Enter the contest as an individual or as a group before February 14 for a chance to win a $5000 scholarship.

Rules

  • Any type of visual art is acceptable: sculpture, painting, drawing, photography, etc.
  • The art work must be created specifically for the contest, from everyday items or recycled objects.
  • The title of the work, either French or bilingual, must represent the social, cultural or climatic environment that is relevant to you.
  • The work can be presented as an image (.jpeg) or a video (.mp4).
  • To register, you must fill out the form on the www.RVF.ca website before February 14, 2020, and include a photo or video of your art work as an attachment.

Objectives

  • Demonstrate the importance of social and cultural environment in the development of creative ability;
  • Promote original works and ideas from the Canadian Francophonie on the theme of the environment;
  • Create a contest that is unifying, inclusive and representative of Canadian values.

Winners

  • The RVF jury will screen the submissions in February.
  • From March 1 to March 31, nine jury-selected works will be submitted for public voting.
  • A $5000 scholarship will be awarded to the creator(s) of the work with the most public votes.
  • Each vote for the best original work gives you a chance to win a VIA Rail travel credit worth $3000. You can vote once a day to increase your chances of winning.
