The prize, which celebrates inspiring and innovative projects led by young people, is presented by Desjardins with the support of Nature&#8217;s Way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">35 projects were submitted to this year&#8217;s competition, with 15 chosen as finalists. Starting May 16th the public can vote for their favourite, and this, along with other criteria, will determine which projects win each of the three prizes, the Jury Prize, the Public Prize, or the Rising Stars Award (for youth aged 5-12). Prize winners receive $5,000, $2500, and $1,000 respectively. They will also meet David Suzuki and Severn Cullis-Suzuki virtually.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008080\">Voting is open until noon EST on June 13th.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There are some <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fr.davidsuzuki.org\/prix-demain\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">really inspiring projects<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> up for the award. The 15 finalist are:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Ka mamuhitunanuatsh meshkanu<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is a collective healing journey on the ancestral territory of Lac-Saint-Jean with young walkers from the Ilu Nation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Jardinons \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9cole Jacques-Buteux<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (the Food Forest Project) involves students, parents, families and communities in a project that connects them to their food.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>L&#8217;Espace Monarque et cie<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> brings the Argenteuil community together to explore the world of local melliferous plants, insects, and the monarch butterfly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Go! De la serre au friGO communautaire<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (Greenhouse to Community Fridge) involves more than 400 schoolchildren in an initiative to grow and distribute food.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Le Fantastique Fertilisant <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">composts Saint-Rosaire school\u2019s organic kitchen waste into fertiliser and distributes it to local private and community gardens.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Vers un engagement conscient<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is a science and outdoor project at Charles-Le Moyne Elementary School which includes public education and outdoor activities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>S\u00e8me ta R\u00e9ussite du pavillon Saint-Boniface<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is an indoor hydroponic garden project educating students and the community about reducing greenhouse gases.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Mission : Passez \u00e0 l&#8217;action!<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Coll\u00e8ge Sainte-Anne students mobilize the inhabitants of the Magdalen Islands to take concrete actions for the environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>L&#8217;\u00c9coth\u00e8que<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is an eco-social student initiative advancing the fight for climate justice based on three pillars: activism, art and education.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Kaskinohomatosowin<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> allows young Innu to connect or reconnect with their culture and identity in Lac-Saint-Jean by discovering the forest after school.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>EAU environnement et agriculture urbaine\/Le jardin des Patriotes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> promotes urban agriculture to improve students\u2019 living conditions and health.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>CEVES UdeS<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> encourages students to get involved in a variety of stimulating projects to animate the climate sphere in Estrie.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Les grands ESPAces<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is an outdoor and environmental education program at Assomption school to create an educational orchard and edible flower beds<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Transition Radicale<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is a youth social and environmental transition group that engages in a variety of social and environmental transition initiatives.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00c9co-motion<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> involves a collective of professionals and researchers in environment and psychology specialised in the support of eco-emotions to help imagine solutions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008080\">The winners will be unveiled on June 21.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Catherine Fisher, blogger<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Image: Image: <span id=\"m_1052139755600138390gmail-docs-internal-guid-059bfbcc-7fff-b6e3-4715-cf1b09d839ae\">Ka mamuhitunanuatsh meshkanu journey, David Suzuki Foundation <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":6,"featured_media":10143,"parent":0,"template":"","categorie-de-nouvelle":[59],"class_list":["post-10141","nouvelles","type-nouvelles","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","categorie-de-nouvelle-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/rvf.ca\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/nouvelles\/10141","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/rvf.ca\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/nouvelles"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/rvf.ca\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/nouvelles"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/rvf.ca\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/6"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/rvf.ca\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/10143"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/rvf.ca\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=10141"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"categorie-de-nouvelle","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/rvf.ca\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categorie-de-nouvelle?post=10141"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
