Everyone loves a good story, as the saying goes, and I think this year\u2019s <\/span>Jardin de Contes au Printemps<\/span><\/a> has something to please everyone.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This virtual storytelling event is the French program of the <\/span>Winnipeg International Storytelling Festival<\/span><\/a>. It\u2019s on until June 30th and it\u2019s also completely free! Individuals, schools, and families can enjoy <\/span>39 online stories<\/span><\/a>, told by 16 incredible storytellers, 24 hours a day.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here are just five of the storytellers performing at this year\u2019s festival:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Storyteller and world-traveller <\/span>Myriame El Yamani<\/span><\/a> draws her inspiration from people she has met all over the world. Travelling between the salty scents of Acadia, the multi-ethnic Montreal of today, the secrets of her grandmother from the Vend\u00e9e, and the colours and arabesques of the Maghreb, Myriame says that the stories choose her, she doesn’t choose the stories.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rob Malo<\/span><\/a> (TiBert le Voyageur) is a storyteller with a passion for Franco-Manitoban and M\u00e9tis history and culture, and also an author, musician, juggler, performer, historical interpreter, humourist, and community organiser.<\/span><\/p>\n

Montrealer and musical storyteller <\/span>Saulo Giri<\/span><\/a> tells his stories in French, English, Spanish and sometimes Esfragnol. He believes that storytelling is a tool for development and growth, allowing the living memories of the world’s ancestors to be heard.<\/span><\/p>\n

Saint-Boniface-born <\/span>Marie-\u00c8ve Fontaine<\/span><\/a> loves to tell stories. An actor and puppeteer, she recently played the role of Cl\u00e9mence in the tv series, Le monde de Gabrielle Roy,<\/span><\/p>\n

Singer-songwriter, columnist, lecturer and poet <\/span>Alexandre Belliard<\/span><\/a> is the founder of\u00a0 \u201cL\u00e9gendes d’un peuple”, a vast historical and song-based project about Francophone America, from New France to the present day.<\/span><\/p>\n
