{"id":18232,"date":"2023-06-16T11:12:31","date_gmt":"2023-06-16T15:12:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rvf.ca\/?post_type=nouvelles&#038;p=18232"},"modified":"2023-06-16T11:12:31","modified_gmt":"2023-06-16T15:12:31","slug":"tout-pour-la-musique-meet-the-artists","status":"publish","type":"nouvelles","link":"https:\/\/rvf.ca\/en\/news\/tout-pour-la-musique-meet-the-artists\/","title":{"rendered":"Tout pour la musique: meet the artists!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fondationdialogue.ca\/en\/tout-pour-la-musique\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tout pour la musique<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, a celebration of Canada\u2019s Francophonie, is almost here, and I\u2019m looking forward to the show Watch for it on Unis\u2019s TV stream on June 24 at 10 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Here are a three of the 15 participating artists that caught my eye:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Burnstick<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.burnstickduo.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Burnstick<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> are Nadia, a Francophone-M\u00e9tis singer-songwriter, and Jason, a Plains-Cree guitarist who plays a very cool-looking vintage Weissenborn guitar. The Manitoba-based duo sings in English, French and Cree. Listen to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfb.ca\/film\/nipawistamasowin-we-will-stand-up\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Prayer<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, a beautiful ballad featured in the award-winning NFB\/ONF documentary: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfb.ca\/film\/nipawistamasowin-we-will-stand-up\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">n\u00eepawistam\u00e2sowin: We Will Stand Up<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Alpha Yaya Diallo:<\/b> <a href=\"http:\/\/alphayayadiallo.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Alpha Yaya Diallo<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is one of Canada\u2019s best guitar players. Diallo has made his home in Vancouver since 1991, but he has deep musical roots in Guinea, where he absorbed musical traditions from the Malenke, Sousou, and his own Foulani people. Check out his <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WDscRSH6IAw\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">mesmerising guitar work<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> at the Issamba African Heritage Festival in Victoria, B.C., in 2021.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>C\u00e9leste L\u00e9vis and Marc-Antoine Joly<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: Franco-Ontarien duo C\u00e9leste L\u00e9vis and Marc-Antoine Joly have been making a name for themselves across Canada with their emo-flavoured folk music. Here\u2019s C\u00e9leste singing the beautiful ballad <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=4y9l27NhUjU\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Simplement<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in 2020.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tout pour la Musique is a project of Winnipeg-based <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/lesproductionsrivard\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Productions Rivard<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and broadcasts each year on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/unistv\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Unis TV<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
