Synopsis

On the road, Mehdi listens to the podcast Avoir su in which teens offer advice they would have liked someone to give them when they were 13 years old. Topics include friendship, popularity, bullying, body image and social media. Inspired by what he hears, Mehdi composes a new song, “Parti pour de bon,” and incorporates his own advice, based on things he wishes he had only known (Avoir su)! Take it a step further – Parti pour de bon: An interactive experience

The concept

“If had known then what I know now …” Drawing on his experience with immigration, artistic creation and working with youth and neurodivergent people, Mehdi uses acoustic song to discuss the challenges faced by teenagers, identity building in minority communities and artistic expression as a survival tool.

The objectives

To demystify the creative process, encourage students to speak up and provide concrete tools to channel emotions into creativity.

To provide a safe, dynamic gathering place, where students can explore the idea that everyone has the power to rewrite their own story.

Each workshop can be adapted according to the time available, the students’ grade level and the school’s learning objectives. Feel free to let us know if you have any special needs.

Duration: 60 to 75 minutes per workshop
Audience: Students aged 6 to 18 (adaptable)

Fees (Virtual option)

Small group (maximum 30 students): $440 per workshop
Large group (maximum 500 students): $900 per workshop

In collaboration with APCM and La Cité, Mehdi Cayenne will be on the road and in the air, visiting Francophone communities across the country!
