Do you teach French at an elementary school? Do you dream of stocking the shelves of your classroom or school library with French books? From March 1 to 31, 2025, the Language Portal of Canada and the Les libraires network invite you to enter the “Mots en couleurs” contest for a chance to win one of two $500 prizes for the purchase of books.

Three Ways to Participate

Version 1: Colour the comic strip

Download the comic strip, and ask your students to colour it according to the instructions provided. Your students can also circle the correct French word in each pair of bolded words.

Version 2: Create your own story

Download the text-free comic strip, and ask your students to create their own story in French by filling in the empty speech bubbles.

Version 3: Choose the correct word

Ask your students to click on the correct French word in each pair of bolded words. For an optimal experience, we recommend using a desktop computer or a tablet. You can also download the comic strip designed for colouring (see Version 1 above) if you prefer to do this activity on paper.
