My blogging colleague Vanessa Lisabelle recently wrote about an online social media channel for young people called Fr+.
Fr+ is a free French language platform which allows Canadian Francophones and Francophiles aged 14-17 to connect in French (in its many linguistic, cultural, and regional forms).
Teens can join Fr+ communities based on shared interests like sports, video games, and music, and the platform adapts their feed to their language level, whether it’s beginner, intermediate, advanced, or expert. As with other social media, users can read and comment on others’ posts, and post themselves.
Fr+ was created by Le français pour l’avenir (French for the Future), an organisation that promotes Canada’s official bilingualism and the benefits of learning and communicating in French to Canadian students from grades 7 to 12.
