Decolonization, terminology and Indigenous realities: Moving toward true reconciliation (in French)
Presentation for ages 13 and up; intended for secondary schools, universities, businesses and other organizations. Perfect for small or large groups!

Description: This presentation explores decolonization as a complex process, one that is crucial to making amends for the impact of colonialism on Indigenous Peoples. It also highlights the importance of using precise terminology in relation to First Nations.
The talk addresses Indigenization and stresses the need to re-establish Indigenous rights and voices in all aspects of society. Xavier Watso debunks ingrained myths and biases, promoting understanding and combatting stereotypes. He also examines current Indigenous realities, including environmental challenges, cultural appropriation and the struggle for recognition of rights.

He also discusses several concepts that are important to First Nations, including their circular world view and the four parts of the medicine wheel.
